Wyndmoor Partial-House Remodel
Location: Wyndmoor, PA
Building type: Colonial
Renovation style: Transitional
This young family settled on their new home and transitioned from the hustle and bustle of city life to the outer suburbs. Before they moved in, we modified an existing load-bearing wall between the kitchen and living room to create an open-concept floor plan, which required three LVL engineered beams and two supporting PSL columns. To stay on budget, we retained the existing gas range, range hood, dishwasher, sink, sink faucet, perimeter base cabinets, and perimeter countertops. We removed the existing floating shelves and installed new white shaker upper wall cabinets and a new tiled backsplash. We replaced the old kitchen island with not one but two new islands for better circulation and entertaining options. On the 2nd floor, we expanded the footprint of the master bathroom to include a new walk-in closet and a small office. The adjacent 2nd-floor hall bathroom was updated with stylish features like a leathered black granite vanity top, black under-mount sink, matte black fixtures, and patterned backsplash tile. The project scope also included new flooring, lighting, and hardware.
