University City Kitchen & Dining Room

Location: University City, Philadelphia

Building type: 3-Story Victorian Rowhome

This kitchen, at the rear of a historic rowhome, was last renovated in the 1970’s – when our clients first purchased the home. The long-awaited overhaul included demolition of two major structural elements: the butler’s staircase that separated the kitchen from the dining room; and the entire rear masonry wall. We added an 8-foot breakfast nook with a slider door to the new rear deck and two peninsulas with bar seating. The new open floor plan presented long sightlines from front to back.

We had a great experience working with Bellweather. Whenever we had a concern, they were immediately responsive and always took care of the issue promptly. We appreciated the design guidance, and are extremely satisfied with how our kitchen turned out.
