Our clients purchased this house in poor condition. The downstairs was especially distressed: the floors sagged; the stairs leaned; the ceilings crumbled. They decided to start from scratch and a full gut of the 1st floor presented many opportunities. We leveled the floors and ceilings and fabricated a custom walnut staircase on site. New modern finishes – like herringbone floors, a recessed TV cubby, LED recessed lights, and accent colors – were paired with the Victorian trim details for a balanced transitional style. A small powder room was added to create a private dining room off the kitchen.
